Life is about money. If you don’t believe me look how many people have been prosecuted post-bailout. If you can get a double digit return on your investment you’d sell your children’s organs. Mr Burns said it best, “I’d trade it all for just a little more”. This is what is great about Amerika and this is why we are so fucked!
Debt ceiling is all the talk. The Democrats are trying to take all the rich people’s money and go further in debt. The Republicans are trying to kill all social programs and give all the poor people’s money to the rich. It’s a story as old as time or about to the Reagan era.
Let me look into my crystal ball and see the near future. The debt ceiling will be lifted and trillions will be cut in the nick of time so we can continue to borrow money from China. Both sides will come out victorious saying they wished they could do more but in the end saving Amerika was what was important. Then their base will be able to blame the lack of resolve on those other assholes.
What if the debt ceiling isn’t lifted? What happens if Moodys down grades our credit rating? What if China stopped loaning us all our money? I’ll tell you…. It would be Y2K all over again.
Now mind you I don’t know shit about the government and how it gets it money and all that other bullshit but that has never stopped me from having an opinion on anything. Here is how I see it.
Lets pretend that the USA! is a family that owns a really big house. The house was paid off at one time but we needed a new roof, some siding, a deck, fur sinks, gas powered dog and some other really cool shit from WalMart, so we took out a mortgage on the place. Then we ran into some bad times and needed another gas powered dog to keep the first one company and we didn’t have health insurance when we took that sex trip and came back with cancer of the ass, so we took out a second. Then we thought it would be really cool to buy a beach house in Iraq and another in sunny Afghanistan. Instead of getting a mortgage on those places we decided to get thirds and fourths on the place we had. There are several problem I see here.
The first is our government system sucks. No disrespect to our forefathers but they had no idea that people would have automatic weapons and they had no idea the people of the USA! would elect people dumber than themselves.
Secondly we borrow money like exhaling a breathe. It’s just who we are. If you want a new 120 inch 3D plasma TV… it’s your Amerikan Jesus right to have one. If you want to borrow more money that you’ll ever make on an ARM loan to buy a house without selling the house you’re upside down in… Fuck yeah. Get a second so you can pay off your cars and credit cards for 30 years while you’re at it. Then max out your cards and buy new cars!
Turdly, our government gets to decide how much it borrows and unless we increase the amount we borrow a credit agency will drop our credit score. This is like Narcotics Anonymous giving a heroin addict and unlimited supply of heroin and an unlimited supply of money AND the phone number to all the heroin dealers in the area and asking them not to over dose. In effect what I’m saying is our government is Amy Winehouse. Then the credit agency is telling us to borrow more money or our credit will be worse.
Who gives a shit what other countries think about our credit rating? What are they going to not sell their goods here? Are they not going to loan us money? Are they not going to be the first in line when some fucked up thing happens to have our Hollywood elite hold a benefit for their fucked up situation. Then answer is no. Fuck no! Maybe they’ve heard the term “Too big to fail”.
Now I’m going to get a bit off track here. I have been a democrat since I joined the Navy after high school and was told that voting was mandatory AND I had to vote for George H. W. Bush. I refused to vote, was sent to the midnight shift of fire watch and Dukakis lost. Amerika, you’re welcome. I have always felt that the two party system we have is in power to keep themselves in power. I have aligned myself with the democrat’s lie rather than the lie the republicans tell. Neither has any desire or motivation to accomplish anything because we don’t pay them enough. Fortunately lobbyist do pay them enough.
Domestically the USA! is hemorrhaging money.
One bad health issue can send a family living in a nice suburb and push them to living in their car in a matter of months. Healthcare and prescriptions should be a right for every person in the world.
We have the baby boomers retiring soon and they are the biggest bunch of pricks any country every made. They burned their draft card then 30 years later forced their neighbor’s kid into a war so they could fill up their Hummer. Now the AARP is running commercials about cutting their benefits? Hey! Fuck you old man. I paid in too and there won’t be shit left when I get there. Suck it up and sell your RV and place in Arizona before you start complaining about making cuts.
We feel the need to solve the world problems by dropping daisy cutters. We also tend to only solve the problems that will show a financial reward for the USA!. If we took the half the money we spend each year on our offense, sorry defense we could supply the world with fresh drinking water and build schools so everyone isn’t trying to come to our borders for the scraps. We could make sure our own people are educated and healthy to have jobs that we actually keep.
The issues are longer than I have patience to type them but they are all there. Our economy is based on buying things and not making them. To have more than your neighbor and get your 15 minutes. Bernie Madoff was sentenced to jail for the exact thing our government is doing to us right now and we don’t care.
Let the thing collapse and we can build a better model. In the end our downfall will be greed. After all I’d trade it all for just a little more.
